Dear Friends,
On June 11th, we gathered at The Explorers Club to celebrate someone so many of us loved — Ted Turner, who left us on May 6th at the age of 87.
To everyone who was there: thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Your stories, your laughter, and your warmth filled the room, and the evening simply wouldn't have been the same without you. And to those who couldn't make it — you were dearly missed, and I wanted to bring a little of the night to you.
We heard tender, funny, and moving tributes from friends across every chapter of Ted's life. We toasted him in true Explorers Club fashion, glasses sailing into the great fireplace. And we premiered a musical tribute, The Call of Ted Turner, that traced his remarkable journey and lifted the whole room to its feet.
If you'd like to experience it for yourself, you can watch it below:
Ted lived boldly and loved this world fiercely, and gathering in his honor — surrounded by people who cherished him — was a gift I'll always hold close. Thank you for being part of it.
We welcome your personal reflections about the life and legacy of Ted Turner, which we shall convey to the extended Turner family.
With warm wishes and gratitude,
Isabel Carro-Toro
