AIAC AFFILIATE D2A ACQUIRES CORYS ELECTRICAL IN NEW ZEALAND

August 1, 2025 - Auckland, New Zealand  American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC) today announced that its affiliate, D2A, a global distribution company, has successfully completed the strategic acquisition of Corys Electrical, the premier electrical products distribution business in New Zealand, from Sonepar, a $38 billion revenues multinational based in Paris.  The transaction, which became effective August 1, 2025, includes 38 administrative, marketing, sales, and logistics sites throughout New Zealand.   

Corys Electrical, established in 1920, has been a cornerstone of New Zealand's electrical distribution market for over a century, supporting all major construction projects such as airports, private and governmental office buildings, manufacturing and logistics facilties, schools, universities, sports and entertainment centers, apartment and hotel complexes, and retail malls throughout the islands.  The acquisition strengthens D2A's position as a leading distribution partner across Asia, Oceania, and Europe, while providing Corys Electrical with enhanced resources and capabilities to serve its customers more effectively in the competitive New Zealand market.  

The acquisition builds on D2A's proven track record of successful integrations and market expansion.  In 2023, D2A demonstrated its strategic capabilities through the successful acquisition of Sonepar's DIY business in France, showcasing the company's ability to seamlessly integrate established distribution operations while maintaining operational excellence.

Corys Electrical will continue to operate under its established brand, maintaining its commitment to customer service excellence while benefiting from D2A's expanded resources and global best practices.
