AIAC CHAIRMAN JOINS THE THEODORE ROOSEVELT ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES

October 18, 2025 – New York, NY – The Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) has appointed L. M. Levie, Chairman of American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC), as a Member of its Board of Trustees. The appointment was officially announced following the Association's 106th Annual Meeting, held October 17-18, 2025, in Hyde Park, New York, which centered on the theme "The Roosevelt Family Legacy."
The Theodore Roosevelt Association is a non-profit and non-partisan organization focused on scholarship, education, and public service. The organization's trustees hold the responsibility for preserving Theodore Roosevelt's memory and inspiring individuals through programs and activities that embody Roosevelt's enduring spirit of service, progress, conservation, and stewardship. Members of the Roosevelt family which serve on the Board of Trustees of the TRA include Cordelia D. Roosevelt, Simon C. Roosevelt, and Andrew Roosevelt. Kermit Roosevelt Jr. serves on is Board of Advisors.
The 106th Annual Meeting brought together nearly 100 historians, civic leaders, authors, and enthusiasts for a weekend of scholarly discourse and celebration. The weekend featured engaging academic panels, including an Authors Panel moderated by Dr. Stacy Cordery with distinguished scholars Dr. Matthew Oyos, Edward O'Keefe, Darrin Lunde, Dr. Michael Cullinane, and Dr. David Woolner. A scholarly panel on "The Roosevelt Family Legacy," moderated by Dr. Michael Cullinane, featured presentations from Dr. Stacy Cordery, Dr. Matthew Oyos, and Dr. David Woolner. The program also included a Fireside Chat on conservation featuring Theodore Roosevelt IV in conversation with Edward F. O'Keefe, moderated by Dr. David Woolner.
Friday evening's Welcome Reception at the historic Locust Grove Estate featured author Dr. Nathalia Holt, who presented and signed copies of her acclaimed work The Beast in the Clouds: The Roosevelt Brothers' Deadly Quest to Find the Mythical Giant Panda, which chronicles the thrilling 1928 expedition of Theodore Jr. and Kermit Roosevelt across China and Tibet. Earlier that day, Edward O'Keefe was awarded the prestigious Theodore Roosevelt Association Book Prize for The Loves of Theodore Roosevelt: The Women Who Created a President.
Saturday's formal Awards Dinner and Gala at the Inn at Bellefield served as the weekend's culminating celebration. The evening featured an inspiring keynote address by world renowned artist Ivan Schwartz, honored with the TRA Distinguished Service Medal for his extraordinary bronze sculptures of Theodore Roosevelt at the American Museum of Natural History and of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum.
The Gala also celebrated two additional distinguished honorees: LTJG Kevin McCullum, U.S. Navy, was named Junior Officer of the Year for his exemplary leadership and dedication aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, presented by Vice Admiral David Architzel (Retired). Nicole Goldstein, Esq. received the Bertha Benkard Rose Award for Outstanding Service, recognizing her over two decades of tireless dedication to the TRA through numerous leadership roles.
In accepting his appointment to the Board of Trustees, Mr. Levie issued the following statement:

His boundless energy, insatiable curiosity, towering intellect, and inexhaustible stamina continue to illuminate what is possible when passion meets purpose. His life was a testament to the power of vigorous engagement with the world—as a statesman, conservationist, scholar, and adventurer. He showed us all that one life, fully lived with courage and conviction, can change the course of history. To be recognized by those who dedicate themselves to honoring his memory is a privilege beyond measure.
I am therefore deeply honored to join the Board of Trustees of the Theodore Roosevelt Association and to carry forward this extraordinary legacy. Theodore Roosevelt's commitment to leadership, conservation, and public service continues to invigorate new generations of Americans. I look forward to working with my fellow Trustees to preserve and promote his enduring contributions to our nation and to support the important work of the Association in educating future leaders about Roosevelt's remarkable life and achievements.”
