AIAC CELEBRATES THE CORONATION OF LUXEMBOURG GRAND DUKE GUILLAUME v

Grand Duke Guillaume

For Immediate Release

NEW YORK, NY – October 3, 2025 – American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC) Chairman L. M. Levie joined fellow members of the Luxembourg American Chamber of Commerce and other distinguished guests at Luxembourg House (Maison du Luxembourg) in New York City on October 3 to celebrate the coronation of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Guillaume V of Luxembourg.

The elegant evening reception honored the historic occasion of Grand Duke Guillaume's ascension to the throne following the abdication of his father, Grand Duke Henri, earlier that day.  Around 50 Luxembourgers and friends of the Grand Duchy gathered for the celebration, which was hosted by His Excellency Luc Decker, Consul General of Luxembourg in New York, Lis Dahm, Deputy Consul General, Marc Padjin, Consul, and Sandrine Copitch, Executive Assistant.

Mr. Levie stated "This is a momentous occasion not only for Luxembourg but for all who value the strong ties between our nations.  As chairman of an industrial group with deep roots in Luxembourg, I am delighted to celebrate Grand Duke Guillaume's coronation and the continued prosperity of the Grand Duchy.  Moreover, as Trustee and Poet Laureate of the Explorers Club, I am privileged to extend enthusiastic congratulations on behalf of all our club members to our beloved fellow member, Grand Duke Guillaume."

Upon their arrival at Maison du Luxembourg, each guest was gifted the official monogrammed lapel pin of Grand Duke Guillaume, a booklet containing an explanation of the constitutional role of the Grand Duke, his and his wife’s biography, and the history of the Nassau dynasty, along with a poetic tribute to the Grand Duke, composed by AIAC Chairman Levie.  The poem is found below:

A Tribute to Grand Duke Guillaume.

Consul General Decker unveiled the official portrait of Grand Duke Guillaume and displayed pictures and video of the coronation ceremony in Luxembourg.

Consul General Decker then delivered an address explaining the ceremony which took place earlier that day in Luxembourg and shared interesting details about Grand Duke Guillaume. He emphasized the Grand Duke's fluency in five languages—Luxembourgish, French, German, English, and Spanish—and his role as Luxembourg's Chief Scout. Mr. Decker noted that, in his capacity as Crown Prince and Honorary Chairman of the Trade and Investment Board, Grand Duke Guillaume led over 70 economic missions. He expressed his hopes that as a frequent visitor to New York, the Grand Duke will continue to visit the city in his new capacity.

The celebration at Luxembourg House brought together members of the diplomatic community, business leaders, and friends of Luxembourg to mark this historic transition in leadership. Guests raised their glasses to Grand Duke Guillaume with cries of "Vive le Grand-Duc!" celebrating the continued friendship and commercial partnership between Luxembourg and the United States.

"Reflecting on the Grand Duke's role as an Honorary Member of The Explorers Club, Mr. Levie commented, 'His commitment to innovation, his support for the space industry in Luxembourg, and his dedication to building bridges between nations make him a distinguished member of our global community of explorers.  I was deeply proud to support his nomination with my dear friends, Martin Kraus and Daphne Lui.”

Mr. Levie continued, “Much is known about the Grand Duke’s prodigious work ethic, multilingual fluency, and philanthropy, but I can personally attest to another aspect of his character - his warmth, humor, and ever-cheerful countenance, combined with a flawless memory.   I recall attending a lunch at the Metropolitan Club of New York nearly a decade ago with a small group of senior government officials from Luxembourg which included a polite young man sitting at my right-hand side.  At the time, I did not know who he was, but he mentioned that his grandmother lived in the U.S. during World War II.  He ordered a medium rare hamburger from the menu and I did the same.  However, when I took my first bite, the juices dripped right onto my tie making a large stain.  I was very embarrassed at the time.”

“Later that day, I attended a black-tie evening gala hosted by the Luxembourg-American Chamber of Commerce a few blocks away at the New York Athletic Club grand ballroom.  When the Crown Prince and Princess Stéphanie were officially announced and I spotted them entering the grand ball room in full regalia, I realized that my young luncheon companion had been European royalty.  I was deeply mortified by my earlier gaffe.  A year ago, on April 24 at the Luxembourg in Space Conference at the Citicorp Center in New York, I mentioned the incident at a private meeting with the Crown Prince, who was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, and a group of cabinet ministers and senior officials.  The Crown Prince recalled the entire experience vividly and we both had a good laugh.”

“Shakespeare wrote, "Heavy is the head that wears the crown," but it is clear that the Grand Duke carries it with remarkable grace and charm.  I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincere best wishes for health and happiness to Grand Duke Guillaume, Grand Duchess Stéphanie, and their sons, Prince Charles and Prince Francois on this very special day.”
